Scope and Content

Correspondence with David Vladimirovich Soskice (1866-1941), journalist and campaigner for freedom in Russia, relating to a request by Soskice to act as a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian on a visit to Russia, and for the provision of credentials to ensure his safety during the trip. Also included is a later request by Scott that Soskice should act as a correspondent for the paper on Russia, with discussion of the requirements of the role, which is accepted.

There is correspondence between Juliet Soskice, musician and writer [wife of Soskice] and Scott, relating to discussion of the publication of a review in the paper of a book by Juliet Soskice, Chapters from Childhood, and reference to her grandfather, Ford Madox Brown, painter and designer.
