Scope and Content

Correspondence with Hubert Deacon Harrison, journalist, relating to an offer by Harrison of his services as a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian in Belgrade, with discussion of previous experience, and a letter of reference from William Ashley, economic historian, accompanied by related internal memoranda. There is also correspondence relating to a request for an article by Harrison on the economic situation in [Yugoslavia], to arrangements for a meeting between Harrison and E.T. Scott, and internal memoranda discussing the subject.

There is also a letter from Harrison discussing his concern over the coverage of [Yugoslavia] in the Manchester Guardian, with reference to the treatment and murder of communists by the Police, and the unrest in Jugoslav Macedonia.

GDN/A/H28/4 is an internal employment history index card for Harrison, 1925.
