Scope and Content

Correspondence with Albin E. Johnson, journalist, relating to the offer of an article by Johnson on elections for the council [of the League of Nations], and to provide to the Manchester Guardian of a copy of a petition by the Syro-Palestine Congress to the League of Nations, which purports to contain a letter by [Arthur] Balfour, politician and prime minister, which would to some extent invalidate the Balfour declaration, which is accepted.

Also included is discussion of a sentence which may be considered misleading in an article by Johnson published in the Manchester Guardian discussing statistics produced by The League of Nations on civil air travel, and its cost to individual nations. There is an offer of weekly articles from Geneva produced by Johnson for publication in a group of American newspapers, which is declined.
