Scope and Content

Correspondence with George Glasgow, journalist, relating to the provision by Scott of a letter by [Arthur] Ransome, journalist and writer, containing Ransome's opinion as to whether Russia should enter the League [of Nations], [letter not included]. Also included is a memorandum on Glasgow's previous experience and work for the Manchester Guardian.

There is correspondence between Glasgow and E.T. Scott, relating to requests for information from Glasgow on the Jarabub cession, and the British Government's stance on this issue, and also on British concessions in China, the legal distinction between a settlement and a concession, and the impact this has upon the American military policy in relation to China, with reference to statements by [Frank B.] Kellogg, politician and [James L.] Garvin, journalist.
