Scope and Content

Correspondence between R.J. Forbes, musician and principal of the Royal Northern College of Music, and E.T. Also included is correspondence relating to a complaint by Forbes over a review of a performance by Willy Hess, musician and composer, which appeared in the Manchester Guardian, with discussion of Forbes' suggestion of a potential bias on the part of the music critic, and the withdrawal of tickets to a subsequent performance, owing to Hess' refusal to perform if the critic [Granville Archer Hill, music critic] of the Manchester Guardian attends the concert.
