Scope and Content

Correspondence with Edgar W. Record (1973-1943), journalist and editor, relating to a request by Record for a reference from Scott for an application for a vacancy at the League of Nations Union, which is granted. Also included is discussion of Record's employment as the London correspondent of the Birmingham Post, with an expression of thanks and appreciation for his employment at the Manchester Guardian, and for a letter of response sent by Scott to Record in his new role.

There is a copy letter from [W.P. Crozier] to Record, relating to a request for assistance in acquiring, in confidence, information on [the abdication of] King Edward VIII from Neville Chamberlain, prime minister, as he is unable to gather information himself owing to ill health.
