Scope and Content

Correspondence with Edmund Dene Morel [formerly Georges Edmond Pierre Achille Morel de Ville] (1873-1924), campaigner on international issues and journalist, relating to discussion of the [impact of the Agadir crisis?], with reference to confidential information received, and the diplomacy of France and Germany. Also included is discussion of Scott's impression of the view of Lord [Edward] Grey, viscount and politician, in that Britain was under no obligation to support Russia or France against the Triple alliance, and that Britain would only enter into military action to prevent the complete dominance of Germany in Europe.

Also included is a request by Morel for a testimonial from Scott to be used in a pamphlet to support of Morel's campaign to become a member of parliament for Birkenhead, which is granted. A copy of the testimonial is included.
