Scope and Content

Correspondence with Francis Perrot, journalist, relating to Perrot's employment as a reporter at the Manchester Guardian, with discussion of an increase in salary. Also included is a request by Perrot to be considered for a vacancy in the London office of the paper, and arrangements for Perrot's move to the London office. Also included is a discussion of Perrot's unsuccessful application for the position of parliamentary correspondent, and an increase in salary. There is internal correspondence relating to the difficulties of Perrot's contribution of regular articles to The Nation.

There is a letter of recommendation for Perrot from John Lewis Paton, schoolmaster.
