Correspondence with Count Carlo Sforza (1872-1952), diplomat and politician, relating to offers of articles by Sforza for publication in the Manchester Guardian on the view in France on the payment of reparations [following the First World War], on a re-examination of the murder of [Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria], and on the work of Catholic missions in Asia, which are accepted. There is the provision of an [unknown] letter of interest by Sforza to Scott, and reference to the suggestion that Sforza should provide articles to the paper written in Italian, should this be more convenient. There is a telegram from Sforza who is unable to attend an [unknown] event, and praise by Sforza of Scott. Also included is an offer of articles by Sforza from a visit to Manchuria, with discussion of the political situation in China, and coverage of China in the Manchester Guardian, which are accepted. There are further articles offered by Sforza on the political situation in Italy, and on the diplomatic relationship between Italy, France and Yugoslavia, which are accepted, and articles on dictatorships in Europe, of which the articles on Turkey and Yugoslavia are accepted.
