Scope and Content

Correspondence with Benjamin G. Horniman, journalist and editor, relating to the offer by Horniman to act as a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian in Calcutta, and an expression of regret at leaving his employment at the London office of the Manchester Guardian. Also included is a further offer to act as a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian in Calcutta, following the return to England of the current correspondent, J.A. Jones, which is accepted.

There is a letter with Sunder Kabadi, journalist, relating to the provision of an article by Horniman of tribute to C.P. Scott [on his death], in The People, with a letter of thanks to Horniman from E.T. Scott, and accompanied by an internal memorandum discussing Horniman, his work, and his deportation from India.
