Correspondence with John Lewis, journalist and politician, relating to an application by Lewis to act as Canadian correspondent for the Manchester Guardian, with details of previous experience, and offer of references from William Lyon Mackenzie King, prime minister of Canada, and Peter Charles Larkin, diplomat. There is a letter of recommendation for Lewis from King. Also included is correspondence accepting Lewis' offer to act as a correspondent, with discussion of the occasional political articles required from Canada, and discussion of potential subjects for articles.
