Scope and Content

Correspondence between John K. Adams, journalist and W.P. Crozier relating to numerous enquiries regarding potential employment as a writer. Also included are discussions of multiple short articles that Adams contributed to the Manchester Guardian for the Country Diary, on nature, and on birds.

There is correspondence relating to arrangements for multiple work trials and short periods of employment for Adams from 1942-1944, with advice on the skills which will be required and what the work will entail, though he does not become a permanent member of staff.

Reference is made to Adams' being invalided out of the Royal Air Force, his employment as a teacher at Wellington College, and his eventual employment as a journalist at The Scotsman and at Country Life.

Also included are internal memoranda regarding arrangements for Adams' temporary employment, and correspondence with A.P. Wadsworth relating to the potential employment of Adams by the Manchester Guardian.
