Scope and Content

Correspondence with Sir Alfred Hopkinson (1851-1939), lawyer, relating to offers of articles by Hopkinson for publication in the Manchester Guardian on reminiscences on the history of Manchester with reference to the Art Treasures exhibition, on mixed arbitral tribunals, with reference to the League of Nations, and to Hungary and Romania, and discussion of the dispute between Hungary and Romania with reference to the treaty of Trianon, on the abolition of submarines, and in support of women in the ministry, which are accepted, with discussion of all the above subjects. Also included is an offer of an article by Hopkinson on the history of Hulme's charity, which is not accepted.
