Scope and Content

Correspondence with Philip John Noel-Baker, Baron Noel-Baker (1889-1982), politician and Nobel prizewinner, relating an offer by Noel-Baker of assistance in providing information from Geneva, which is declined, as J.G. Hamilton, journalist, is providing all information required.

Also included is correspondence between Noel-Baker and E.T. Scott, relating to an expression of appreciation by Noel-Baker for articles in the Manchester Guardian on Fridtjof Nansen, explorer, scientist, statesman and humanitarian, which is acknowledged with thanks. There is discussion of an article by Noel-Baker on opinion within Germany on the League of Nations and disarmament, which is published in the Manchester Guardian as a letter to the editor [entitled 'Disarmament, Germany and the draft convention'], with reference to editing of the letter's length, which is carried out by Irene Noel-Baker, wife of Noel-Baker.
