Scope and Content

Correspondence between Donald F. Boyd, journalist, and E.T. Scott and W.P. Crozier, relating to Boyd's employment as a reporter for the Manchester Guardian. There is discussion of a request for a salary increase, which is refused, and an application by Boyd for a vacancy at the London office of the Manchester Guardian, which is unsuccessful. There is correspondence relating to Boyd's resignation to take up a position as Talks Director of the North Region for the BBC, with related internal memoranda.

Also included is a letter of recommendation from an unknown source, with details of Boyd's employment history.
