Correspondence with H.D. Darbishire, solicitor, relating to the provision of a letter by Muriel Lester, who is staying with Mohandas Karamchand [Mahatma] Gandhi , political leader and religious and social reformer, which expresses Gandhi's concern over the traffic of opium, with the request that it be considered for potential publication in the Manchester Guardian, which is accepted.

Also included is an internal memorandum relating to discussion of an enquiry by Darbishire regarding procuring a rare edition of [History of Seven Pillars, by T.E.] Lawrence, and the difficulties this may entail.

There is correspondence relating to arrangements for a meeting between Scott and Darbishire, references to Scott's [80th] birthday celebrations, and enquiries after Darbishire's family.
