Scope and Content

Correspondence with Mary Ryott Sheepshanks (1872-1960), educationist, feminist, and internationalist, relating to an offer of a letter to the editor entitled 'The Ukranian minority in Poland', which is declined, owing to the imminent publication in the Manchester Guardian of another article by Sheepshanks on the same subject. Also included are a related internal memorandum, a draft copy of the letter to the editor, and extracts of the law relating to agrarian reform, 1925.

Also included is discussion of a potential error in an article [on agrarian reform in Poland] published in the Manchester Guardian, and the provision by Sheepshanks of information on Polish law, though she declines to write a signed letter for publication in the paper on the subject.

GDN/A/S43/6 is an article entitled 'Polish Agrarian "Reform"' in the Manchester Guardian, 1931.
