Scope and Content

Correspondence with George William Russell (1867-1935), journalist, poet, and agricultural economist, relating to an offer of an article by Russell, 'Ireland and the Empire at the Court of Conscience' for publication in the Manchester Guardian, which is accepted, with discussion of the article, and of Russell's intention to also turn it into a pamphlet. Also included is a letter of recommendation for Russell from [Alice Stopford] Green, historian and Irish nationalist.
