Scope and Content

Correspondence between (Richard) Barry Parker (1867-1947), architect and town planner, and E.T. Scott, relating to discussion of Parker's involvement in designing the layout for houses for a development in Wythenshawe, with gratitude from Parker for the support of efforts to improve the architectural design given by the Manchester Guardian. There is a request by E.T. Scott for a drawing or elevation of the development, accompanied by a related internal memorandum.

There is also provision of an advance copy of a lecture to be given by Parker on the Wythenshawe [estate] to the Lancashire and Cheshire branch of the Chartered Surveyors Institution, which is received with thanks, and accompanied by an internal memorandum on its potential uses.
