Scope and Content

Correspondence with Maurice Copisarow (1889-1959), chemist, relating to discussion of doctors and eye specialists in Germany. There is discussion of Scott's own experience with eye specialists, and the recommendation by Scott of Doctor W. Stock in Tubingen. There is discussion of Copisarow's condition, as he is rapidly losing his sight.

There is correspondence with Arthur Lapworth, chemist, relating to a request for advice on behalf of Copisarow, and also a request for a letter of introduction from Scott to Stock for Copisarow, which is provided. Also included are a letter of thanks from Copisarow for Scott's recommendation, and a letter between Copisarow and Stock relating to discussion of Copisarow's operation, and also of the occupation of the Ruhr by France, which will lead to the impossibility of continuing with Stock's clinic.

GDN/A/C81/8-9 are a letter from Dr Stock to Capisarow in German and a translation of the letter into English.
