Scope and Content

Correspondence with the secretaries of the Friends' Emergency and War Victims' Relief Committee, relating to an expression of thanks to the Manchester Guardian for arranging a tour of the fields of work of the committee in central and eastern Europe for a Miss Linford, additional thanks for articles by Miss Linford published in the Manchester Guardian, and of the support provided for their cause by the paper.

Also included is correspondence relating to the conveyance of thanks from the committee for the support and assistance of the fund launched by Scott to aid in support for Russia during the famine, and Scott's thanks for the co-operation of the committee in support of the cause.

There is correspondence relating to request that Scott add his signature to a letter to be sent to the press on armaments, (a copy of the proposed letter is enclosed), which is refused.
