Scope and Content

Correspondence with Mary Agnes Hamilton (1882-1966), politician and broadcaster, relating to an expression of thanks and gratitude by Hamilton on Scott's agreement to give her an opportunity to write for the Manchester Guardian, with discussion of the potential areas in which Hamilton might contribute, including literary reviews and the women's pages. Also included is a request by Hamilton to renew her with review work for the Manchester Guardian, with reference to the fields of literature, history and political science. There is also a copy letter between Scott and [Robert] Latta, philosopher and professor of logic, relating to discussion of [a request by Latta for employment for Hamilton [referred to as Miss Adamson] at the Manchester Guardian.]

There is a letter of recommendation for Hamilton from J[ohn] L[awrence] Hammond, historian and journalist, with discussion of Hamilton's skills and experience.
