Scope and Content

Correspondence with Samuel Hield Hamer, secretary of the National Trust, relating to the National Trust's inability to assist in saving Bramall Hall from demolition, and suggesting other avenues of approach. Also included is correspondence discussing the suggestion by Scott that land at Lantern Pike Moor might be bought by the National Trust, with reference to its historic interest.

There is an enquiry by E.T. Scott as to whether information about purchases by the National Trust are generally supplied to the press, or only to selected papers, with reference to the acquisition of land at Harlech Castle, accompanied by a related internal memorandum.
