Scope and Content

Correspondence with Dora Russell (1894-1986), writer and campaigner for women's rights, relating to discussion of a complaint by review that a review of her of book, Hypatia, in the Manchester Guardian, suggests that that the aims of the feminist movement have already been accomplished, with examples in which Russell suggests that this is not the case, which is acknowledged, but with a refusal to enter into a correspondence on the content of a review. Also included is a refusal to print an [unknown] letter to the editor by Russell in the paper.

GDN/A/R69/1 is a review of Hypatia, or Woman and Knowledge by Russell in the Manchester Guardian, 1925.
