Scope and Content

Correspondence with Arnold Duncan McNair, first Baron McNair (1885-1975), jurist and judge, relating to the suggestion by McNair that he write a series of articles on international law and relations for publication in the Manchester Guardian, with suggestions of potential subjects for articles, and details of previous experience, which is declined, but with the request that McNair write an articles on the resumption of diplomatic relations with Russia, which is accepted. There is discussion of whether the article requires McNair's signature.

Also included is a request for a letter to the editor from McNair on the announcement by Herbert Hoover, president, of the American position regarding sea law for food ships in times of war, which McNair agrees to provide if enough time is available to him.
