Scope and Content

Correspondence with Rudolf Breitscheid, politician, relating to discussion of the support for imperialism in Great Britain, and amongst the Liberal party, and the lack of information on foreign policy provided by the Foreign Office. There is also correspondence with discussion of lodgings and introductions for Breitscheid for a visit to London.

There is a letter of reference for Breitscheid as a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian in Sweden, and correspondence discussing a request from Scott for articles from Breitscheid on matters of general importance in Germany, and which have relevance to foreign relations, with reference to subject, form and frequency of articles, and with internal memoranda discussing the subject.

There is a letter of recommendation for Breitscheid from Doctor Barth, a correspondent on Germany for the Manchester Guardian.
