Scope and Content

Correspondence between Robert H. Hill, journalist, and E.T. Scott, relating to a request by Hill to be considered for employment at the Manchester Guardian, with discussion of previous experience, the provision of specimens of work, and arrangements for a meeting between Hill and E.T. Scott.

Also included is correspondence relating to a request by Hill to be considered for employment as a reporter at the Manchester Guardian, which is declined owing to the lack of vacancies, and with discussion of his work as Oxford correspondent for the paper. There is correspondence relating to Hill's appointment as a member of parliamentary staff for The Times, and discussion of Hill's recommendation W.K. Loveridge, journalist, as his replacement as correspondent in Oxford.
