Correspondence with Salomon Frederik van Oss (1868-1949), newspaper proprietor and editor, relating to reference to the introduction of Scott and van Oss at a dinner, and the provision by van Oss of a copy of his paper, the Haagsche Post, with reference to an article which it contains on Ramsay McDonald, prime minister. Also included is a request from Scott for permission to apply to van Oss for information on events in Holland, which is granted, and discussion of the relations between Holland, Belgium and France, with the suggestion of an article by van Oss on the subject for publication in the Manchester Guardian.
There is a request by Scott for an article from van Oss on the drainage scheme for the Zuiderzee for the Manchester Guardian, which is declined, owing to van Oss' opposition to the scheme, but with an offer of an article from a member of his staff, which is accepted. Also included is the provision of an article by van Oss on the Dutch-Belgian [enforcement] treaty, 1925, with discussion of its implications.
GDN/A/O18/1 is an internal record of employment card for van Oss, 1924.
