Correspondence with Dame Flora Louise Lugard, Lady Lugard (1852-1929), journalist and author, relating to the provision of an article by Lugard for publication in the Manchester Guardian on railway construction in Nigeria, with discussion of the subject. Also included is correspondence on the provision of a review by Sir Frederick Lugard, governor-general of Nigeria of [In Brightest Africa by Carl E.] Akeley. There is discussion of the offer of an article by Lugard on the visit of the [King Edward VIII], prince of wales to West Africa, which is accepted.
