Correspondence between Edwin Cannan (1861-1935), economist, and C.P. Scott and E.T. Scott, relating to a request for articles by Cannan to contribute to the discussion of the proposed capital levy, and on the general question of inflation, for publication in the Manchester Guardian.

Also included is a request by Cannan to reproduce articles contributed to the Manchester Guardian Commercial in a book entitled The Economic Process, which is granted.

There is correspondence discussing Cannan's opposition to the economic theories of J[ohn] A[tkinson] Hobson, economist, published in the Manchester Guardian, and of the support for these theories by [John Maynard] Keynes, economist.
