Scope and Content

Correspondence between M.A. Grant, headmistress of Withington Girls' School, Rachel Scott, women's education campaigner [and wife of C.P. Scott], and E.T. Scott, relating to arrangements for the opening of new buildings at Withington Girls' School by Ernest William Barnes, Bishop of Birmingham, and for a report and photograph of the ceremony to be published in the Manchester Guardian. Also included is discussion of the hosting a lunch party for Barnes by C.P. and Rachel Scott, and an invitation to the lunch for Mr [unknown] Ferguson.

There are also copy letters relating to the provision of a letter of sympathy by Scott from the council [of Withington Girls' School] on the death of Ferguson.
