Scope and Content

Correspondence with Alexander H. Boyd, journalist, relating to Boyd's employment as a reporter and later head reporter at the Houses of Parliament for the Manchester Guardian, with discussion of salary, duties, recruitment of new staff and the parliamentary report produced by Boyd. Also included is discussion of Boyd's pension and the Manchester Guardian pension scheme, accompanied by internal memoranda on the subject.

There is correspondence terminating Boyd's employment following over 50 years of service, and a request from Boyd for assistance in payment of his life insurance policy, which is refused.

GDN/A/77/18 are newspaper cuttings of death notices for Boyd.
