Bradshaw qualified at the University of Manchester in 1951. He was an assistant radiotherapist at Christie Hospital before becoming a consultant radiotherapist at Leicester General hospital and consultant radiotherapist to Sheffield Health Authority. He was a fellow of the Manchester Medical Society.
