Administrative / Biographical History

Derek Crowther was professor and director of the department of medical oncology at the University of Manchester and the Christie Hospital from 1974-1997. He was educated at Cambridge University and St Bartholomew's Hospital, and was previously deputy director of the ICRF unit at St Bartholomew's. He has published and lectured widely on the subject on oncology. He was elected president of the Association of Cancer Physicians UK in 1999.
