MB ChB Vict Manc 1913, MD 1920.

Bearn held both the Dauntesey and Turner Scholarships while at the University of Manchester. After qualifying he held house positions at MRI and was a Captain in the RAMC being awarded a Distinguished Service Order and a Military Cross. He later gained the honour of CBE. Bearn was honorary assistant physician at the Devonshire Royal Hospital and shared a practice in Buxton, Derbyshire with Wilson. Bearn was also a member of the International Society of Medical Hydrolysis.
