BSc Lond 1884, MB and BS 1888, MD 1889; LRCP Lond 1887; FRCS Eng 1889; BSc Manch Vict 1904.

Ashworth won many honours as a student at Owens College. In 1887 he was appointed house surgeon at MRI, later becoming assistant surgeon to Clinical Hospital for Women and Children Manchester. Ashworth was a member of Manchester Medical Society and was on the Committee in 1898. He died on 26 January 1929.
