F.S.A Doran, known as 'Mike', graduated from Cambridge University in 1937. He worked as a surgeon at MRI, Duchess of York Babies' Hospital and the Christie Hospital. Later in his career he was a consultant surgeon at All Saint's Hospital, Bromsgrove. Doran drew many cartoons for Manchester University Medical Students Gazette.
