FRCS Edin 1875; MRCS LSA 1868.

Fox trained at Middlesex and Charing Cross Hospital. He was resident medical officer for Manchester Workhouse, Crumpsall, and later was surgeon to Manchester Southern Hospital. Fox held various other medical roles, including surgeon to Manchester Police and Fire Brigade, surgeon to the Great Northern Railway, and chief medical officer for a number of other railway companies. By 1890 Fox had moved to Leeds.
