Tim David was professor of child health and paediatrics at the University of Manchester. David studied medicine at Bristol University where he was drawn towards paediatrics. David did research and clinical work in Bristol, Taunton and Plymouth before coming to Manchester in 1978. David gained an appointment at Booth Hall Children's Hospital and was later appointed professor at the University.
