Louis Appleby is National Director for Mental Health in England, chairing the Mental Health Task Force. He is a professor of psychiatry at the University of Manchester and a honorary consultant psychiatrist at the Manchester Mental Health Partnership. His principal research interests are suicide, self harm and postnatal psychiatric disorders.
