Aird held resident positions at St Mary's Hospital, Manchester. He later became consulting obstetrician and gynaecologist at the Blackpool and Fylde Gp Hospitals. He was a fellow of Manchester Medical Society and a member of the North of England Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society.
