MB ChB Manch 1924, MD 1937; DPH Lond 1928.

After studying at Manchester, Fay was assistant resident medical officer to Crumpsall Infirmary Manchester. He then went into general practice in Stretford until 1931 when he became ill. When he recovered he entered the public health service, and held positions in Lancashire and Hereford before being appointed deputy county medical officer of health for Somersetshire. Fay retired in 1961 and went to live in Cape Town, South Africa, where he died on 17 April 1962.
