MSc, MB ChB Manch 1921.

Gleaves was resident medical officer and medical registrar at Ancoats Hospital Manchester and lectured in psychiatry at the University of Manchester before moving to Fife where he was assistant resident physician to Kenlaw Hospital for Functional Nerve Diseases. Gleaves later returned to Manchester and had a practice in the city centre. Gleaves was a member of Manchester Medical Society and the British Psychiatric Society.
