BSc Manch 1930, MB ChB 1933; MRCS Eng LRCP Lond 1933; MRCP Lond 1935.

After qualifying at Manchester, Evans moved to London where he became house physician to the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, and by 1940 was honorary assistant physician at the children's department of King's College Hospital. Evans was a member of Manchester Medical Society .
