Ashworth studied at Owens College. He was a physician's assistant at MRI, assistant RMO at Cheadle Convalescent Hospital, and Surgeon for Northern Counties Hospital for Incurables, Manchester. Ashworth was a member of Manchester Medical Society from 1894 until 1913. He died on 27 January 1930.
