Mary Cole, known as Moya, studied at Queen's University, Belfast. She was senior registrar at Christie Hospital Manchester until 1955 when she was appointed consultant radiologist, a position she held until 1982. During this period Cole was also part time lecturer in radiotherapy at the University of Manchester.
