Biddulph trained and worked as a nurse at MRI and St Mary's Hospital. She held many nursing positions at different hospitals around the world and spent six years as a nursing advisor for the Ministry of Health. She was appointed as Director of Nursing to the United Oxford Hospitals, the first post of its kind. In 1969, she was appointed Chief Nursing Officer in Manchester.
