Davies was born on 29 August 1898 and, after serving in the RAF during the first world war, received his medical education at Cambridge and St Bartholomew's Hospital. He was a consultant in Brighton before the second world war, but after the war came to Manchester where he was assistant clinical lecturer in dermatology at the University and consultant physician to Manchester and Salford Hospital for Skin Diseases. He was also honorary dermatologist to Salford Royal Hospital and Chester Royal Infirmary. Davies was president of the British Association of Dermatologists in 1958. Davies died on 23 August 1990.
