Friedlander was born in 16 November 1903 and was educated in Vienna, Telitz and Prague. After ten years in practice after gaining his MD Friedlander went to New Delhi where he took up private practice. During the second world war Friedlander joined the RAMC in India. He married Dr Jean Loveday Broughton and came with her to England in 1947. He obtained his English medical qualifications in Manchester in 1948 and they both worked together as general practitioners in Manchester. Friedlander was a fellow of Manchester Medical Society . He died on 30 June 1969.
