Annacker studied at Owens College and the University of Berlin. He held various house positions at St Mary's Hospital, Manchester and MRI before becoming honorary physician at Hulme Dispensary. Annacker was a vice-president of Manchester Medical Society and a member of the Manchester Pathological Society and the North of England Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society.
